Wall Street Journal Frontpage Image July 7- Filipino Activist
Written on Saturday, July 12th, 2008 at 4:45 pm | by NickI try to read the Wall Street Journal on weekdays, just to keep up with current issues. On Monday, the front page had me looking straight at the usual front page picture, this time, it looked like a Filipino, and in fact, it was.

The caption on the photo above read,
FUELING ANGER: Rising fuel prices sparked protests in Manila this weekend. Congress is to resume the debate on oil speculation, and thin margins are forcing some U.S. gas stations to close.
But in fact, there was no mention of The Philippines anywhere in The WSJ that day, but there were heavy talks on the high fuel prices that is gripping the world. It was a picture that was supposed to depict the outrage of the high fuel prices. I’m guessing that on that day, the editors decided that this activist, a Filipino, showed that outrage more than any picture they had in stock.
