Remembering Musa Dimasidsing

Some may not remember the name of Musa Dimasidsing, some may not have even heard of him at all.  But for many like me, he is a martyr of the 2007 elections.  It was one year ago to this day that Comelec district supervisor, Musa Dimasidsing, the whistleblower who came out and exposed the wholesale cheating in Maguindanao, as well as confirmed the numerous allegations by other teachers who witnessed the cheating, was gunned down.

And if anyone ever asks as to why I loathe Fake Senator Zubiri, it is precisely this reason that he will never be anything close of distinguished.  Him and his political circle chose to wait out the Maguindanao votes, which gave time for all the anomalies to take place.

Musa Dimasidsing’s death inspired me to take action in producing a writing project, my very first, and to this day, I am still inspired and moved by the submissions that were made.

Musa Dimasidsing was just one of the many deaths that was the result of our inept election process.  It was Musa Dimasidsing’s death that once again proved to The Filipino People that The COMELEC has been hijacked by the political machinery of our current regime, and those who wish to remain in power.  It has been hijacked through intimidation, and maybe even bribery.  It has been hijacked so that the will of the people could be circumvented for those who wish to buy their way into power.

Musa Dimasidsing is a tragic symbol of the evil of our political lords in which death is nothing more than mere collateral damage.  It is this view that many dirty politicians take.

And thus, one year ago, to this day, Musa Dimasidsing was murdered, all because of the evil power struggle for votes.  I refuse to let our right of suffrage be murdered the same.
