Dissent In The Ranks
Written on Thursday, November 13th, 2008 at 1:11 pm | by RG Cruzso while the senate busies itself with bolante, the president’s staff was busy trying to arrange a meeting or phone call between gma and barack obama. after all—she was already conveniently in the area of chicago, obama’s home district in the US senate.
you see its a house divided over there at the palace on whether she still should meet with obama. or even chase after him. there are those who are realistic that if he wasnt interested in communicating with her before (all she got was a phone call during the campaign and her congratulatory phone call was even ignored), he would never meet her at all.
still there are those who outnumber these guys—and insist on having her secure that all important photo with the incoming great black brother. why she would risk the loss of presidential pride and dignity can only be explained by the fact that being in the good graces of the white house has historically stabilized the oresidency in the philippines. rightly or worngly, the us president still has a say in philippine politics—at least where it matters. marcos’ escape to hawaii. teh persuasion flights during cory’s time, among many others.
like i said before, this is all about insurance.
and insurance is what she needs now that she has several things to work on. never mind jocjoc’s explosive non testimony at the senate. its scripted and will not yield anything new or dramatic. never mind the other things goiing on in the country now. with the economy almost in shambles globally (despite the economic managers’ projections to the contrary), she has to work on her legacy—which could go beyond 2010.
again there is dissent in the ranks. charter change is still a go for some—while others have started to back off after seeing conditional public support—meaning people support charter change only after she’s out of power.
(what i say here will probably piss some people who fancy themselves as ”observers” and “pseudo journalists” whats going on in that big house by the river. but hey its a free country. besides—its naivete on anyone’s part to think that bloggers dont know what they are talking about. especially when it comes to political blogging. unfortunately for you—just because you think youre in the know doesnt mean you actually know stuff.)

What’s the deal with the last paragraph, Mr. RG? That was just straight reporting (except for paragraphs 4 and 5) and certainly nothing anyone should be ‘pissed’ about.
what a palace ass kisser pseudo reporter doing in the pages of this credible blog? kay luli lang naman yan in the know, eh naiskupan pa ni sandra aguinaldo.
Filipino Voices, be wary of fake journalists with huge egos with nothing else to show but a swell head, filled with pretentions.
