COMELEC - The Late Bird Does Not Get The Worms
Written on Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 at 3:04 am | by NickMy coverage of The Lintang Bedol Fiasco during last year’s 2007 elections, almost gave me ulcers upon ulcers. And it is just one of the primary reasons that when I see that so-called Senator Zubiri, my stomach gets upset. In any case, as we all know, COMELEC didn’t do anything about Lintang Bedol, even after he lost all those damn documents, which eventually meant that Migz Zubiri could coast and win the 12th spot as Senator, “winning” over Koko Pimentel.
Well, as we expected, they didn’t do anything to Lintang Bedol, the man who finally solidified a win for Migz Zubiri. That downhill trajectory went even more downhill as Alioden Dalaig, the lawyer that was supposed to be on top of the investigation and filing of charges against Lintang Bedol, was murdered last November 2007. What gets me is that THE COMELEC, being the most useless Government Agency this side of the world, did not follow up on the case, even after Lintang Bedol went missing, and after the murder of Dalaig.
And now, The COMELEC has the balls to tell us that they will finally pursue a case against Lintang Bedol, a full year after the elections itself? Talk about the early bird, or in our case the later bird. No worms to find now, they’ve all gone into hiding.
And get this, they are only doing this now because,
COMELEC law department employees found an unsigned draft of a subpoena and criminal complaint against Bedol during a recent inventory of office files.
Yes, that’s right, if COMELEC ever files a case against you, all you need to do is to have someone misplace the files, this way, they are rendered “helpless” and will not continue further investigations.
The idiots of COMELEC are back, to astound us with their idiotic grasp of logic. I feel more stupid already.

You could also compare the foot-dragging to the spectacular dispatch with which the Mayor Isnaji and son have been arrested and charged based on “propaganda,” at least according to Sen. Pimentel.
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez said the picture, along with a video showing Isnaji counting the money and the testimony of PNP Intelligence Group chief Senior Superintendent Winnie Quidato, constituted strong evidence that could pin down the Isnajis on kidnapping charges - PDI.
But then why was there no urgent determination of “probable cause” and arrest of Abalos based on Neri’s under oath testimony (“Sec, may 200 ka dito”) corroborated by JDV Jr. and Lozada? Has Abalos been missing too?
The police claim that Mayor Isnaji has pocketed P 3 million pesos? How could they know it was not P 2,999, 500.00? Have those youthful thugs texted the police, Ces or anybody about any missing ransom money or P 500? I guess they are upset too.
The Lintang Bedol issue is by far on my opinion the most blatant display of arrogance of any government official to his superior. No less than the COMELEC Chairman and the En Banc was slapped in the face by his actions.
Abalos is a laughing stock at that time when Bedol even had the audacity to have an interview with GMA 7 and display his guns! Talk about the gun ban order from the COMELEC.
Even Commissioner Garcillano’s ignoramic performance in the House truly reflects the situation that we have in COMELEC. I really pity Justice Melo’s decision to enter COMELEC, it would tarnish his sterling career in the judiciary. I prefer to remember him as a Justice of the Supreme Court rather than a COMELEC chairman. But who knows, he just might straighten the Commission….
just might.
