Bayani’s War

Written on Monday, November 17th, 2008 at 3:36 pm | by Ding G. Gagelonia

My day began with DZMM’s multi-voiced Neal Ocampo interviewing Metro Manila Development Authority general manager Robert Nacianceno pooh-poohing the stunt pulled by angry people’s organizations who’ve spray-painted those larger-than-life tarps of Mr. Bayani Fernando which ostensible exhort us to be disciplined.

Nacianceno volunteered that ‘BF’ is not pulling down the defaced campaign material to prove their point that there are “anarchists” in our midsr.

The good MMDA official does have a point there.

But he and his boss fail to read the message of public outrage over the MMDA chief’s obvious electioneering.

As Marocharim reported elsewhere here at FV, boos also greeted the recent motorcade of garbage truck sporting “We Lab BF” streamers.

BF and company should closely analyze the latest Pulse Asia survey that tracked the putative presidential candidate’s rating at all of 1%

So how is Bayani’s war to capture Filipinos’ hearts and minds going?

There are anarchists in our midst. Therefore we need BF’s kamay-na-bakal. Sieg, heil!!

apparently, his being the Celebrity Duets Champ gave him much exposure esp. to the provinces. However one CD judge commmented somewhat like this- na mukhang sa husay nyang kumanta ay ‘di kaya gumulo na naman ang kalsada (dahil sa kaka praktis, baka nakalimutan na ang trabaho). Sadly, the EDSA tragedies/accidents occured at a time when BF was reaping the success of his Celebrity Duets Stint.

Nice pic with Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez. What did “Kring Kring”’s husband have to say about that, I wonder?

There is something worse than Bayani’s Hitleresque tarps and this is Jojobama’s film reel about his achievements in his Makati fiefdom complete with Marcosian like march music.

If you watch a movie in Makati you will see this reel and want to throw tomatoes at the screen but then again Ayala’s security will throw you out.

BTW Jojobama and Bayani have 1% rating but we have to remember that Adolf Hitler started out with even worse ratings.

Thus there is inspiration for the two gentlemen. Who knows they can make the famous post-Reichstag fire speech someday (The Speech that really inauguarated the Third Reich)

Jojobama:I am the supreme Justician of Makati!
Bayani: I am the supreme Justician of Metro Philippines!

I forgot to say that the Jojobama film clip really ruined my Quantum of Solace moment! :-(

Good tip. I’ll go see a movie somewhere else.

Why are Manilan politicians so unforgivably stupid and crass?

let me beat Benign0 to the punch and use his tagline “because people voted for them”.

that said, it makes voters’ ed and involvement of oppositors imperative… starting with registration.

BF is nothing but a moron…the ¨over-U-turn¨ in C5-kalayaan road is classic..waste of money and didnt resolve the traffic..

BF is no different than other politicians of ours…corrupt, greedy, idiot and moron and doesnt really care about the filipino people.

Like you I am aghast at his barefaced arrogation of public resources for his personal agenda. This early you know what kind of president he could be, God forbid.

How is it that he can get away with spending the local budget on streamers??

  12. Juwan_D on November 18th, 2008 7:18 pm

    thenashman,

Its Philippine style…everyone gets away with their crimes…Philippine politics at its best :)

Does this mean absolutely nothing has been written in the broadsheets about his use of government funds for those metro gwapo streamers and for the 100+-truck parade? Not even in the Letters to the Editor section? We get Phil. Star at home but I haven’t been even skimming the op-ed page consistently :-(

    What about other papers?

By the way, how does one find out for sure if it was indeed government money that was spent for the pogi tarps? Or you all just assuming that such is the case?

Somehow I support BF because he is constantly searching for ways to fix the f’ed up transportation system which was already dismal even before his tenure. But the stupid posters and epal na metal in the streets are wasted resources. And what the hell does the pink line do!?!?! And why pink!?!

  15. Juwan_D on November 19th, 2008 11:36 pm

Yup, he is constantly searching..no doubt…for years now..he is still searching…

MMDA is one of the most corrupt govt agencies..from top to bottom…

He has a PHD on doing trial and error… :)

    Daniel,

Are you referring to the pink bike lanes?

As for the choice of color, I heard that it’s his wife’s favorite :-)

Does anyone here work for the MMDA?
